Splash! Towel Packaging
Print Packaging | InDesign & Illustration | 2018
Splash! is a made-up company that sells towels. It strives to educate young children on the importance of a regular cleaning routine. There are three different packages with animals cleaning with their parents on the cover. Not only is the packaging playful, but it also shows how different animals go about their own cleaning routines.
Proposal
When I was younger, my parents promoted health and cleanliness. Not only did it help me become more responsible, it was a great place for me to bond and learn from my parents. The purpose of creating a line of towel packaging was to promote wellness and the relationship between parent and child.
Design Brief
I wanted to promote daily hygiene by incorporating the texture of the towel and encouraging a parent-child relationship. The target audience for my package design is children ages 5-12 who are starting to become more independent and aware of their need to keep clean. There are three different variations of animals on the front cover, as well as an informative postcard that comes with every purchase of a towel. Each package includes two towels (one for the child and their cleaning partner), and if this was marketed, some of the proceeds for this towel would be donated to the WWF nature foundation. The location of sale would be places like Target or Walmart, or can be ordered online from Amazon. The price range of this product is $15-$20.
Process
There are several important elements that make this package unique. Unlike many of its competitors, this packaging will be easily recyclable. The package also contains little cards, one for each package, that can be use as postcards to send to friends for fun. Not only will the children be able to use their towels, they can also read facts about the animals they've chosen from the front of the design and send it to their buddies to spread word of the company.
